The Mrs a while back announced she's off to god knows where with the girls (she did tell me but my mind instantly drifted to bike related trip ideas) for four days over the May bank Holiday.....

    4th to 7th May

Goes without saying I will utilize this to do one on the bike for four full days of riding bliss. But where?

    Scotland highlands
    Welsh coast
    Northern France
    Isle of Mann
    Nurburgring

Choices choices choices – ideas on a postcard please!!

Scotland gets my vote. The highlands have some cracking roads. :)

Oooh that is a predicament but a good 1 at that. Personally never had the privilege of getting myself abroad on the bike yet, it'd be either France or the Nurburgring for me.

I'd opt for northern France Jimbo. It's far enough away to be different and relatively easy to get to from your 20. The highlands are great but it's a schlepp and one day of bad weather screws it up. Likewise the island. Nurburgring is a group event to get the most out of it, unless Sabine Schmidtt sits on your face and wriggles.

Northern France edges it for me.

Your spot on there Jimbo Vills. For us a couple of hundred miles gets us as far oop north as it does yourself over the water to France.
What ever you decide, I'm sure you will enjoy.
Pity it's not 12 days before, were going to IOM could always have found you a spot. :)

I wouldn't believe everything you hear, there is good and bad reports where ever you go.

If I where to go abroad I'd probably get the overnight ferry over. That way I could be fresh for the trip over there.

Not done northern France mate (properly anyway) so will no doubt be a likely option, also plenty to see!

As for the ring, yep, defo a group thing! But it's soooo good, I'd go with any excuse, plus the local roads surrounding it a awesome....

But I fancy a bit of exploring and scenery, what a pickle hey! Lol

    Talk about a double standard.

I'd pop over (or under) the water, take a spin down route Napoleon, sod around in the south of France for a bit & back - Or scoot round some Alpine roads for a few days - Or get the ferry to Spain & do the Pyrenees - Or spend the weekend out on the lash
