I sold the Akrapovic Evo system that has been on my bike since March, so today I refitted my standard RRW system. I made a weird silencer back in January to test some zorst theories and I fitted it today. It's about 600mm long, 63 mm diameter with a 35mm perforated tube baffle. Currently packed with stainless wire wool. I know it looks odd , but bare with me, it will be modded over the coming days/weeks. Opinions greatly appreciated and orders taken , should you see summat you like. So here is weird can 1; Click on the piccy to hear it?
I would be a bit worried about cladding with wire wool, ferrous wool is highly combustable, is stainless not the same??
I'm loving this Megs. At some point in the past, before we could just crib from data sheets, this must be how the relationship between how an engine breathes in and out must have been investigated. I don't understand any of it but will still follow your progress with interest mate.
Cheers chaps Just pulled the baffle out and I had forgotten to pack it. I shortened it, ready for the slashcut, wrapped and wired stainless wire wool around it and then refitted it. Some pix and a vid. Whadya think? shortened wrapped and wired refitted and tested One short video
Lovely slippers there mate, doesn't sound any louder than a yoshi, would like to hear it singin down a country lane
Wait till you hear the next vid mate. Will be out testing as soon as the salt has been washed away!!!
dunno what's happened with the vid, worked ok before? Here's a slashcut with the full length baffle. And hopefully a video.
The latest and last version of the slashcut. If anybody can sort the video problem , that would be splendid! Next job is better absorbtion material and maybe modding the linkpipe!
It was a start Claire. Need max pipe length for max silencing. Need to have a rethink on the silencing ???
What about an inline baffel mate under the motor like the RaceFit and dare I say that NASTY TM? Looks interesting so far chap. I did a load of mods to the headers with these K5 headers with EPA valve cut out and rewelded then fitted to a K9 GSX750 that had a built in cat but this shows the second baffel under the motor/arm
