So with MCE, they quoted me £100 less than last year. Still going to look around. Would like TD cover. and I need to add my exhaust also. So who's paying what? with mods? what extras? mine is limited 4000 miles which I want to up to 5. the price of the bike now it's a year old? what would someone suggest I put that at? 9K?
Keep the value high, they will only try and knock it down anyway! Wouldn't worry so much about miles as just say you did loads of trackdays in the rare event they question it. I had a costly car accident and a brand new blade stolen so my insurance history is a little patchy to say the least! I'm paying £1,300 in total for: 2011 repsol blade with ALL mods disclosed to the insurance company inc. Carbon wheels and an agreed value of £12k for all mods. 5000 miles a year 2008 GSXR 1000 - totally stock 14,000 miles a year '99 GSXR 750 - stock(ish) 3000 miles a year. Its the cheapest deal i could get for all 3 bikes
As your going to be shopping around i would have to suggest you try the bike insurer. did my quote through them and i got tpft for £300. Not bad considering im only 22
I got mine through bike insurer , 260 odd fully comp with MCE . As the price is low for a 29yr old i doubt it will go down this year . I will be shopping around thou , just incase
Just got my quote, no mods disclosed yet 42 rear old 10 plus years no claims £160 comp protected no claims with motorcycle direct
When I asked it is 50 % value excess, so if you did stack it you would only get half the value of the bike back ??? not sure if its worth it ??? but its only £99 and at least you would get something but if its a small off you wasted you £99 I am 31 paying £289 Fully comp no excess with MCE
i,ve been with hastings the last few years. last year at renewal was 39. max no claims, fully comp brand new repsol £240 ish. i am in cornwall though.
well im with kwik fit , fully comp , all mods decleaired and im 37 with 5 years no claims and i pay £296 all in .........................................................................................................................
Check your policies with MCE... they wack a load of stuff on without telling you, like security and alarms to bring the premium down, they also got loads of other details wrong when I checked the paperwork. All of which they would no doubt use to get out of a claim. I know 4 other fireblade owners they have done the same thing to. Yet they try and claim you told them the wrong details, or you put the details wrong into gocompare.... which is easy to prove as a damn lie. There is a reason they are significantly cheaper than any other insurer for fireblades. You pay for what you get.
Insured mine with Hastings, declared all mods, end can, pc111, goodridge hoses etc, even a simoncelli sticker which made the guy snot!! Got 8 years NC and went for protected NCB, helmet, leathers, boots and gloves, usual European cover £276 all in.
WTF ..... where am i going wrong, been pricing up a 2010 blade, 48 years old, 5yrs NCB, no points, no mods, full comp..... £550 !! But i live on the outskirts of Manchester with a ' M ' postcode, do you think this will affect it ? Oh its also garaged etc etc.
lol just used bike insurer and I get quote from £361 fully comp but a big excess and no overseas riding or use of other bikes. to £3500 from Honda happiness lol
my renewal came thru today for end of feb and hastings want £292 so went on bikeinsurer.tv and motorcycle direct came back at £152. every company that quoted had similar excesses. don,t think hastings will be having my money this time.
