Today I picked up the fireblade with the kind of excitement a kid gets on Xmas morning. Had a short ride from the dealership to home 25 or so miles some of which bumpy. Got her home and parked on the driveway admiring as you do and spot oil running off the offside front fork stantion and over the fork lower. Almost contamination of the brakes. Have called a very shocked salesman and explained that this has NEVER happened before. The bikes being collected Monday and sorted. But, I would never have of expected such a thing. Not quite the start I'd hoped for. [IMG]

No worries, they we'll sort it out. It is good that you've checked it though as many people dont pay attention to details after a ride.

Think a free first service might sweeten the taste. . I'll ease the frustration with a beer and order a tail tidy..

Sorry to hear that matey, horrible when you have waited for something new.

IMO the fabled Honda quality ended around the end of the last century, and has been getting worse on a yearly basis ever since. My last 2 Blades have had the worst build quality I have seen in 30+ years of Honda ownership.

Thats unfortunate fella. But happily you found it quickly and more importantly it was as you got home. Honda build quality is second to none so it's very surprising.

Yeah, I had a couple of small issues at the very start of my 2012 ownership from new, then 3 years of perfection. Hopefully a one off.

Yes I know the feeling I had a brand new bike with 30 miles in and a stuck injector in the open position ,semi hydrouliced petrol washed crank ,it may have happened at anytime but dealer putting petrol in for Pdi out of a can is a shit procedure imho

They have told me that they have never stripped one of these forks and as such have had to order the honda tools. The seal should be here today and the socket tomorrow. I asked them to just swap the fork so I could have it back and they said they had thought of that and all they have in stock is ABS bikes which have an additional bracket on the right fork. All I can say is the bike better be returned looking like nobody has laid a spanner on it.. perhaps I expect too much?

Sounds a tad pants to me. It amazes me that these big dealers, happily take our cash, and promise great things, but when things go wrong, they don't really go out of their way for the customer.
I noticed you said the seal 'should' be there today, so its not definate.
How long have they said it will take to do the job, if you are away on Friday??

Hopefully your bike is a Priority over everyone else's machine

Have they provided you with a like for like bike whilst yours is being sorted out?.
Its a real shame that your introduction to Blade ownership hasn't begun like you wanted, but hopefully once this is done, you'll have trouble free miles for ages.

Or they should have taken it to suspension people to get it done?
