Apologies for those who have seen this before, but after much messing around with cameras & mounts, I have finally settled on a tank mounted Panasonic SD card camcorder. The video is compressed, but gives an idea on quality for the Scotland trip as I have enough memory cards & power to cover the whole trip. Some may recognise the location at the end.
The other mount is for a MiniCam on the crash bung which can also be rear facing off the brake reservior. The plan is that together I should be able to cut out some nice scenes from the trip, the lap(s) of Knockhill, some decent footage of other Blades on the trip, and just generally make all those who couldn't be bothered feel jealous
Good old Cadwell, the 'Garage that time forgot' before it is the give away! Are you going to take everyones footage and put a DVD together? - Grabbing stills from cameras / phones on last evening is good thing to do as makes it easier I'm not sure I'll put the GoPro on - it needs a new lens cover but the rear facing footage from it is very good
Good call. I'm still sorting the software on my PC to make my life easier when it comes to editing down, otherwise that means dumping the lot onto disc, which at 32Gb per 8 hour day would mean a lot of DVD's/BluRay's Re grabbing stills off each other, that could be tricky. It may be better just to follow each other up afterwards to share photos online. Is there an easy way to dump entire albums online?
Hi dudes, I've opened a photobucket account for 1000rruk members, you can upload the photos to this if you wish for your trips etc...: 1000rruk on Photobucket | Photobucket pm me for password if you're interested.
Sorted the software now. Just been playing with a video I recorded out the back of my mates GSXR600 that's coming up with us. Edited it down and added audio. There's a metaphor in the sound track BTW. Rewind back to 28sec if you don't get it the first time.
Bugger, just when I thought it was all sorted, me & my mate went out for a few hours yesterday and I just couldn't get on with the position of the camcorder on the tank as it stops me front ducking behind the bubble at speed, plus the mini tank bag was next to useless, I could barely squeeze in my phone & house keys. Next job is to try these ball joint brackets that I got from some PA speakers. I drilled some new holes to match the HESD cover, which brings the camcorder forward enough for me to get my head lower behind the bubble and also allows me to use my old, slightly larger tank bag. Just got to test it to make sure it's stable, which I will do on my way to the Grantham meet on Saturday. I might see how my digital camera gets on in there too as it has a wide angle lens.
