Away for the winter! I know it's early, but I ran the bike in, in jan and feb this year, and the salt was beginning to show on the fasteners and other alu parts, so I'm not taking any chances this year, plus I'm upto 7k miles in 8mths, so keeping the mileage down. All cleaned, new oil, tank topped up, newbrake fluid , on the paddock stand and the optimiser connected. I shall visit every few weeks to put new bling on... :bananadoggywow:
I think how the weathers come in quick I won't be using the bike much. still glad I got to use the bike from Feb till the End of Oct
I took he bike to work today .. Coooooooooooold ! Wash , lube , wax and polish and she's going into hibernation
I think mine has prob had its last outing this year aswell :-( do you guys spray the bike with anything? wd40,muck off bike spray,gt85 or the likes? not sure if its the done thing or not?
Was a cold one this monring indeed. Frost in the street this morning and the gritters first outting was on Saturday there. I think it's time to get the heated grips, standard wheels and forks back in and get ready for the winter riding fun.
I thought mine would be away by now, but we kept getting ok days, Its on the charger now, so we'll see.
My bikes been off the road for a couple of weeks. Thanks to the excellent weather up here in the antarctic north 'scotland'. Gutted but at the same time gives me more excuse to mod the bike more for next season.
I have just fitted my Titanuim alloy snow plough............................ bring on the snow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PS....... can i get snow spiked tyres for the blade?
i spray it over the down pipes, through gaps on the fairing, then use a brush and a rag with it on everywhere else. Start the engine when done, and let the excess burn off, and it will smoke a bit, covering all other parts.
Panicked when I saw these title mate. Lol. Mine has been off the road since beginning of august when I crashed it unfortunately but now its officially off the road and in winter storage all serviced and ready to go. I think I will be like Si though and keep popping in the garage to fit new bling it would be rude not too.
I imagine the problem with a faired bike is that you don't have access to spread the excess ACF-50 around with a cloth. You can buy ACF50 in a quart bottle with a spray bottle, as opposed to an aerosol. Might be worth trying the bottle to see if it sprays a finer mist of ACF50.
Ahh .. I have this spray bottle and its getting on for useless . I now use a little pump spray that used to contain a hair product ... much better
Thanks for that, useful to know. I use an aerosol myself at the moment - benefit of a naked bike I suppose
Love ACF-50, I have the can, the spray/pump bottle (ok but not brilliant) and even the 1 litre bottle !!! I got the bottle because i intend to get a compressor and spray gun, then it's the fairing off and cleaned and sprayed all over. I have ridden all year round for the past 4 years but when my dream Repsol blade finally comes..... none of the nasty white stuff is coming anywhere near it. But having a faired bike will be a whole next experience.
no cold forecast until at least the end of the month and beyond down here on the south coast, happy days.
