Dropped the wife's iPhone in glass of squash, only lower half got wet, all works except main home button just sounds squidgy when pressed, currently sat in rice next to a radiator, hoping to dry out, any other ideas???

Switch it off right away mate. Stick it on a radiator with a tea towel below it and let it dry out asap

Be more wary of the congealed sugar than the water. Did you get the battery out quick?

I dropped mine into a full bucket of water, took it in the house and did the hair dryer/ rice trick and it's as gd as new now

Fella - ages ago my iphone3s got proper soaked in a pocket whilst on the bike - I thought it was f3k3d - I left it in the airing cupboard for about 3 weeks - It still didn't power on - so I claimed on the insurance and got another one. About a month later I thought I'd stick it on ebay for spares/repair for like £20 - imagine my surprise when I tried to switch it on to see if it would work and the thing powered up no problem and was working 100% :) I got £150 for it in the end 'sold as seen' - Result - so maybe be patient if it dont work for the first week? Kev.

Depends what liquid it is ..

Iphones don't have removable parts so the best action has already been taken .. Put it in rice and dry it out

The damage is caused when people try to turn them on and the board shorts out .

Iv seen loads work find for a week then the board corrodes and they start working funny after that . Water you normally get away with , stuff like coke , coffee , wine etc dries sticky and wrecks the circuits later

Unfortunately thee are water indicators in iPhones that turn red . a couple inside , 1 in the head phone jack and 1 in the dock connector so if it works your lucky and if it packs up then its game over

Sounds like your doing the right stuff thou
