Just thinking about the effort Mad Matt is putting in at the gym to get totally fit for his assault on the various tracks he is visiting . This led on to thoughts of ,could you be fit but have not got the stamina or strength to do a full race ( full on ) and therefore do you guys swig a special brew which helps you get through ?
Don't know about racing, but the local shop near to work sell these happy shopper energy drinks. 25p a can, and on a busy day, i can have 5 in the day. Great boost, but you shake like a shitting dog and have the fear. Way better than the red bull.
my protein pulse V4 or My PRE for lifting events but no good for training as i train so late id never sleep. Used be something call jacks 3d that was lethal and is now banned.... to get me though a sleepy day Monster or V
isn't this stuff linked to all kinds of nasty internal probs?not an expert just read and heard things
Living off caffeine as a norm I find it hard to get a real hit from energy drinks. But I do like a Monster Ripper or two on a morning before a ride out on two wheels.
There is soooo much crap in energy drinks. You'll have a sugar/caffeine high, then get hit with a crash. Natural sugars and slow release carbs are the way forward on Trackdays/racing etc. Youll have have much more energy from natural products. Snack little & oftern between sessions with a nice healthy lunch (nothing too heavy or you'll feel lethargic & tired) and you'll be alright Just my 2p. I'll probably get shot down ;-)
Water - loads of, a coffee in the morning, I munch bananas, and a flap jack or similar for slow release.... And try and have something light lunch time. This has evolved over the season tbh. I've got to be really hung over to touch energy drinks when racing Oh and tea... Drink a brew all day long
