Having read all the posts on suspension settings, a piece of advise given to me was change the fork oil as OE oil is basically as cheap as you can get. Use a good quality oil and get springs that are rated for your weight. So what is the best oil and who best supplies the best springs that are weight rated?
I rebuild many each year but rebuilding and reworking are two very different things, for rework I send them all off. You can always talk to ktech and they will recommend you springs and oil that you can then build into your forks but if you have not done them before or have the correct tools then I'd stay away.. Tbh springs are only half the battle it's the valveing that's the issue... Ktech are defo top of the pile.
I rebuilt my rr5 forks, new seals and oil, as you say it was a pain and I remember thinking why did I start this. I made up a tool to hold the internal to pull it through the top nut. What cost is a rework?
Arthur and Craig have both given excellent advice and Ktech is a good way to go. As I am crap at anything mechanical, I have had my last three bikes done by Darren at MCT. The Blade has recently been done and the handling s now excellent. As you are Norfolk based, MCT is quite local being at Stowmarket. Unfortunately, I was a bit short of cash at the time so didn't have the revalve, but will get that done as the front, excellent as it is, is still the weak link in the bike. They are very helpful and can do KTech, Ohlins or their own stuff.
Well my bike feels amazing after maxton done me forks 400 notes and a 2012 rear shock with maxton spring the differance is amazing
Just about to take my new (to me) 954 over to KAIS suspension in Atherton (Wigan way), i have bought an Ohlins rear shock and have just had my fork recall done by Honda, i got them to put me in some new fork oil at the same time, So KAIS are going to fit the rear shock and set the whole bike up for me...... i hope it feels different.
