So my bike broke down yesterday - wondering if anyone might know what happened? I had been out for a long spin with my girlfriend on the back. I was giving it some stick down the motorway - going pretty quick, I slowed down a little and all of a sudden the bike just dies. The Red right went on at the right hand side of the dash, I pulled over. Oh-oh. I was worried. I gave the bike 5 mins and tried it again, it took a few seconds but it did start, I was only a few miles from my parents house so I limped home. However it did the same thing half way and just cut out. Again I gave it a few mins and it did start so I was able to get back ok.

When I got to the house I called a local mechanic and I was going to drop it down to him, but this time, I turn the bike on, the lights come on, but when I push the starter, it literally goes completely blank and everything turns off.

I'm getting it towed to a mechanic today - but can anyone take a stab at what might be wrong?

Thanks, yeah that sounds like it. Are they a common part to go?
    How much are they roughly?

and move the rectifier from next to engine to somewhere colder
i repaced it under pillon seat and removed the plastic from air vents to aloow loads of air to go in
my blade used to get too hot and burn the cheap ebay ones this company is good and 1 year warranty
