WHAT Motorcycle Chain Breaker and Riveter

    I want to get one. Yes I know O can use a grinder etc... but want to get this tool

    But seems there are loads on the market from cheap to expensive.


    Anyone recommend a make/model of Chain Breaker and Riveter

    One thing to note though, Dont break a chain with it. If you break the pin your fecked as you use the same pin to rivet the new one on, just turn it around. when its broke the pin isnt long enough.

    To remove an old chain just atack it with bolt croppers, an angle grinder or a hack saw. Anything thats to hand really that looks like it will get the job done.

    Just dont break a chain with the tool.

    Demon Tweaks sell pins.. :) other tool I have is a whale chain spitter, tbh you need both one for soft links like the DiD and one for hard links like iRIS etc..

    They may do but when your mid job, you have your chain half off and its broke your fecked

    A bloke asked me how do I spit my chain, I said use a grinder, a day later he came in to have his chain rivited with his old one cut in half, I said most people grind the pins down rather than use a petrol disc cutter to slice in in half... :S

    I got a Whale riveter & a seperate splitter in '92,excellent results. I'd go for an all in one like the DID now, for convenience.
