Looking at Andy from DT as we get a good discount from him and it's cheap then my local stores. I currently have Suopertech R, Sidi Corsa Air which need to be replaced. the Sidi's are vented and work really well. So have narrowed it down to these Looking at these Sidi Vortice Boots - Demon Tweeks in black Fluro yellow. i like that Sidi ST Air Boots - Demon Tweeks In black and white, vented and look good plus a bit cheaper or Alpinestars Supertech R Boot 2012 - Demon Tweeks in black white and yellow. I am going for these as I've enjoyed weather the sid and Supertech over the years and want another I love the Dayton security Evo boots but out of my price range. just looking for suggestions, thoughts? your experience's
I have the Alpinestars in the black white and fluro. They are so comfy and look great. I would highly recommend them!
Looking at the title i thought this was gonna be yet another tyre thread A-star SuperTech R for me, but im sure the SMX are ok too.
I have had a pair of Sidi boots for about 10 yrs now, they are the vertibra boots. I have found them very comfy and the zips and Velcro are still working fine. the sole is getting thin now around the ball of my foot where it sits on the peg(think I could get them re-soled), but I think they have lasted well. For 5 of the 10 years I've had them my bike was my only transport in all weathers. They can squeak when you walk but pledge sorts that!! So I am thinking about changing too.. I looked at the Vortice boots at the BMF & thought they looked over complicated and too many things to break. The ST Air look great and have that simple clasp at the top that once set is quick and easy to use. I'd get the ST Air Hope this helps Happy shopping! Ozz
Sidi Vortex for me, got some of their Gortex Race Boots and they are comfy with a good zip and all the protection you need. I think Alpinestars are living on past glories and hence this is reflected in their pricing structure which is equaled and better'd by others for cheaper, this applies to their leathers also.
I've had Alpinestars, Dainese and TCX boots and TCX are the only ones that fit my wide feet. I'll just buy another pair when these wear out.
Don't bother with the white Super tech R as the white hard pads top of the foot (under the gear change ) go off white almost like uv have made them yellow . On a positive note they don't squeak .
Sidi st gortex i wear really comfy no squeaks,i have really wide feet too and these have loads of room, take seconds too put on,compared too my mate who had supertechs which take him ages faffing with the innerboot thingy.
thanks for all the advice , I was thinking this above. The Vortice I have tried on, comfy but very time consuming to put on. The ST air do look good and like my Sidi Corse airs. i think I may give them a go. last question. on both my Supertech and Sidi I am a Size 46/11. So worth just buying this size or popping to my local store and trying on before I buy or just order via DT?
I have the Sidi ST and I am probably a 10.5 shoe size and fit the size 10 boot perfectly They definitely saved me breaking my leg when I came off at Snetty as the bike landed on my left leg and the boot barely had a scuff from it but they do tend to squeek a little
I'm an 11 shoe size but bought the EU 47 GB size 12 Sidi's and they fit perfect. Best try on if you can at a local dealer even if you intend to buy elsewhere!
Today i have just replaced my 11 year old supertech's with a brand new pair of supertech r Very very comfy from the off, had to go up a size in the new ones but very happy with them and would recommend them to anyone
I had white supertech R's for about a week, now they are off white dirty supertech R's , I would go dark next time but the boots themselves are the most comfy I have had and I love them, I am looking at some SMX goretex next as my commuting boot, as they dont do goretex supertechs
