Need to get myself a Sat Nav (bike) for my trip to Nice. I must admit I don't know a lot about about them, choices seem to be either Tom Tom or Garmin, I don't have a lot of money to spend, just need a basic one that can accept Euro Maps.

    Any suggestions ?

I still use old school maps when I travel through Europe, for me it's the only way to go.

go to mapsman.com and buy a few michelin maps. Cost you peanuts!

    Cheers

I've got a garmin zumo 550 which has been great it was a lot of money but it is weatherproof! I guess it all depends how much you want to spend? Mine you can pair bluetooth items to like headset and phone which is a bonus when riding as you don't have to keep looking down for directions, or go down the cheap route and get a car sat nav and waterproof case

There seem to be only two proper bike spec satnavs available out there: TomTom Rider and Garmin Zumo. They're waterproof, glove friendly and with a display that is perfectly usable in daylight. They're priced similarly by the TomTom apparently lacks behind the Garmin and has some annoying navigation issues (takes you off motorway to take you back on it sort of problems). The Garmin is not perfect either but it comes with a route planning software called Base Camp which works with both Windows and MAC OS X and it allows you to follow a route rather than going from A to B. It also comes with loads of accessories for easy installation to any bike. To mount it to the Blade the best probably is a stem mounted RAM ball. I'll take some photos of my Garmin ZUMO 350LM mounted to my bike using a stem ball from The Telferizer Custom Motorcycle RAM mounts for GPS Systems and a ultimateaddons nut like this one: http://www.buybits.com/Product/1877...cket-For-Ram-Motorcycle-Mounts-sku-18771.aspx and post here.
