On trip back from work today clocks went off acumen too and then about ten mins later bike cut out and shut down. It was still pulling and running fine when clocks went off i was filtering so just wanted to get through traffic and not stop and investigate. It was just starting to spit with rain and well dewsburry is a shit hole whatever the weather so didnt want to stop to check it out as it was running fine . As soon as it cut out i pulled over looked all over bike no issues to see. Temp was at high 80s before clocks went so i just turned ignition off then on. Clocks scrolled round bike fired and ran so off i went . Ran perfectly the couple of miles left till home. But it straight on optimate in garage and battery fully charged . Its had a stator about 2500 miles ago but thats it. Rectifier gone ? Id have no charge then though id have thought . Advice clever folks im off to play with the wifes boobs to cheer myself up
im off to play with the wifesboobs This forum loves pictures Back to basics. Check charging on idle and 2k rpm. Did it start after being charged. Honda love reg/rec
Bloody hell. Is nothing sacred on this forum? Just so you really understand me, it wasn't the boobs. It was the pussy bound in leather. Mmmm . . .
Just to put a name to your self excersise his name is michael jackson he is now 20 years old . Named because he is black and white and likes kids .
So blade stopped again on way home and this time wouldnt start. Did from a bump but only for 500 yds before stopping again. Got rac with bemoto insurance thankfully and after an hour he turned up . Bike nut owns a super duke. We stripped it down on a petrol station forecourt. Rectifier connection burnt out. Cleaned it up charged battery off his van and it starts and runs fine .system shows its charging too so i might get away with new connections but ill change rectifier anyway. He followed me home too which was good.
You've got it nailed now!! Seems some of the rectifiers have a short life. Had to change mine on the 2011. Probably a timely reminder for us to make sure we carry a copy of our breakdown cover in our rear cowl/toolbox.
Worth a Check on your policy if it's through insurance . Some sell it as breakdown cover. But they only supply the basic cover (roadside) fix or 10mile tow .. Many a dissapointed member with a cut tyre and £200 bill cause he's over a 100miles from home.
Insurance wise its be moto. Full european cover fix if possible or trip to garage/home . I can not fault them and as i quoted this forum i got some discount. Had some utter shite insurance before i dont think ill ever leave be moto. Told about mods to bike can paint brake lines power commander fork internals ect and it didnt load premium.im 41 with only a years no claims as id had a 5 year road bike break and i pay 320. I know i could get cheeper but not with all ive got on policy .
