The stainless bits of metal in the photo below are the component parts of a little project for the bike. I'll let you guys have a stab at what I'm making, there are clues in the other items in the photo, especially the big black plastic item, which was replaced by something, that itself is going to get replaced by the project.
as it has Indicators i would say it is some form of top box attachment with indicators as the luggage hides the standard ones
Tail tidy...of a sort.. The lump of plastic is part of the original number plate holder.. The bike has a tail tidy on now which is quite discreet, but after the recent thread about number plate holders, I decided to see what I could come up with. Once I've tig welded the parts together, it'll be a number plate bracket that will sit under the rear silencer, roughly where the top of the rear tyre is, with the plate angling back in the normal direction rather than the angle that Martins is, keeps it looking a little more legal. Should be nice and visible from directly behind, though dunno what the view would be like from, say a street light or traffic light perspective Not sure whether to highly polish the stainless or paint it black when it's done.
You may find out why the angle is there, if straight it will strike the hugger on a bump. You could maybe get away with it if moved half way between the hugger and the original mounting point
That's about where it's going, the angle will be acute enough that the tyre won't catch unless I'm landing after jumping a fleet of buses in a Evel Knievel style
Not in Orange !! Lol yellow yes, also black, if it was a black blade it could be a submarine, as they are used to going that bit slower Couldn't be silver or red either as the top box would stick up above the waves giving the position away lol
No subs on this forum please. All the fish heads I have ever met were right nutters, worse than gixxer riders in shorts and flip flops
It's further off the tyre than the photo makes it look. But don't get that much travel in the swing arm. But will find out tomorrow
Pleased to say that after a good ride out over various roads conditions and lumps/bumps of all shapes and sizes, the plate is still where I put it.
