Hi guys, It's with a very heavy heart that I ask this question but....... Any thoughts on what my rr5 is worth? She's got 11.5k on the clock. Service history, black screen, ti akra slip on, r&g bungs, r&g bar ends, r&g tail tidy, small indicators, techspec grips (new today), seat cowl, new sportsmart rear and half worn qualifier RR front, oh and she's destickered. The bad bit is that I had her resprayed a couple of months ago, not due to accident damage, just cuz she had age related marks here and there. Now the spray job wasn't the best. I can't go back due to it being family so I'm left with it as it is. Im only considering selling as I need a small car to commute in. I had hoped to sell my old BMW r80rt but although that's an excellent runner and relatively low miles (45k on a 1993 - nothin for these bikes) she needs some work to bring her back to excellent condition so isn't worth what I had hoped:-(. So the blade is the only other thing I can sell. Anyway, any thoughts on the value if the blade? Thanks Nick
Ive just traded in a Black 55 plate with 3000 mile full service etc, this bike was truly mint, check my pics? Honda gave me £4000 against a new bike and they advertised it at £4999 now I dont know what they sold it for but what I do know is they sold it in days. A bad respray is not good because a buyer would wonder why, spend a bit of money putting the fairing right and you should get £4000 to £4300 however with a poor paint job I would anticipate just £3000 -£3300? My opinion only, good look
Cheers lads. I was kinds thinking round the 3.5k mark. I spose I could strip all the good bits and sell them off seperately. I am seriously considering commuting on the blade, the r80rt is ok to commute on too, it's just that I'll be commuting in rural Wales so when the weather turns a bit it'll get a bit nasty on a bike
The bad paint job will knock more off the bike than it would cost to fix it correctly, although you say its not due to accident damage.... this is exactly what any new owner would think it is, its false economy to keep it that way.
I know mate, kicking myself now!! A good old honest paint job with a few swirls and boot marks would be a thousand times better than this :-( Further compounded by the lack of funds to correct it. Believe me the first place she would have gone after getting the plastics back would have been dream machine if I had any cash! It's a buyers market tho eh!! I'd be the first to walk away from a respray, especially a bad one
New paint or spray jobs on an older bike is not the end of the world, we have all dropped them, but bad paint jobs is a no no, there are probably very few 10 year old bikes or cars out there that have had nothing done.... its part of the ownership experience !!! I have no real issue with it, but it just needs doing well, thats it really.

Cheers guys, Do you reckon Chinese plastics is more attractive than a rough paint job on genuine plastic? Thanks Nick
Hey, I'd be tempted to take a look as it is? I'm looking to make me a Repsol rep - so a respray/plastics might be on the cards anyway? I'm over in tamworth so drop me a PM if your interested. Troy
