Been looking at a couple of ohlins rear shocks on ebay and wondered what the difference is between these two model numbers?

    HO788
    HO931

Here we go ..... I think

Ho778 is mk 1 version I have the preload adjuster is positioned on the shock

Ho931 is the mk 2 replacement and the preload is normally mounted on one of the rear peg bolts

Obviously the mk2 ttx is improved over the mk 1 but both good and for the riding I do and occasional trackday !

Apparently there was mk 1 0788 and 0888 one for non ABS one for ABS (0888) they then released mk 2 0931 for both but people wanted 0788 style back so released mk 2 0788

That's the latest so you can't go wrong really plus fits either bike :)

Worth every penny IMO the ride on my bike is noticeably better and not to firm etc

I realise I'm new to this site but the current ebay.com site of Kyle Racing lists the latest Ohlins for ABS/Non ABS equipped CBR1000, 08-15 to be H0340 with Non ABS recommended to be H0342. I'm only adding this as an update for anybody catching this thread.

I think The abs shock is same as the non abs shock . The only difference is just the pre load collar . They don't advise if for abs because of risk of crushing it with undertray .
