And no connection to the Scottish driving laws thread but what spirits do you enjoy? I only drank Jack Daniels in my Late teen's but have found in the last few years a new love. After 15 years of not drinking spirits I have found GIN! I have a few bottles I will post up but have enjoyed a glass or 2 every once and a while. I have got to the stage where I enjoy trying different makes So have a little collection which I added this to my collection today Introducing Cannonball Gin! – Edinburgh Gin Distillery I have been enjoying recently Hendricks, Chase and Monkey 47 Gin So anyone else like their Gin (With or without tonic)?
Well after drinking Smirnoff blue for years then Courvoisier brandy I needed something a wee bit stronger.I've been drinking a mates homemade vodka and brandy which blows your socks off at 88%.No wonder the Russians love it. I've just bought his distillery and equipment to make my own so in time I should be able to produce something I like.
I am a Chase vodka man. This is an English brewed vodka, about £35 a bottle. Just drink it neat and chase! with a Becks.
I do like a good gin, but my main vice is scottish single malts. My xmas present to myself this year is a bottle of Lagavulin 16yo
I too have got into Scottish Single Malts. Don't like the peat smoked ones from the islands, but I have enjoyed a bottle of Auchentoshan, Jura and Oban already in the last 6 months Will be stocking up again before xmas
First love is defo a nice Red...However, i very much like Gin and Tonic. and is my second tipple... Usually a Hendricks or Sipsmiths with Fevertree Tonic..lovely.. also i love Sloe Gin..on it's own and on the rocks....Haymans is a cracker,as is sSipsmiths. Aldi do a london Dry...every bit as good, if not better, than Hendricks....less botanical tasting, and with a slice of cucumber is amazing. I introduced Givover to the delights of Haymans, and he loved it! Eriststoff Black Vodka, made from berries is amazing. nowt with it, just ice. Glayva (whisky and honey) is lovely, and you can't beat a nice Limoncello after a meal.
I don't like Bacardi, cider, brandy or white and sparkling wine. I will and do drink everything else. Even a thermometer, once...
Si, next time you're down here you should pay a visit to Plymouth Gin. You can make your own with your pick of ingredients.
Good to see we have a few spirt fans here. Great Guy you need to look at Wholesalers if you can. I get Chase Vodka for the wife or Gin for me for about £25 via bookers. Monkey 47 Gin is about £38 online yet under £25 wholesale.
You don't save that much at Wholesalers i find..the likes of Costco and Bookers etc.. have raised their prices, as all and sundry go...once you add the VAT, it aint worth it. Better deals online and if you join clubs (Times Wine club or whatever) there are some amazing deals. I got the Eristoff Black for £5.49!!! at Asda on a special, usually it's £17... Supermarkets have huge buying power these days, so discount a lot of booze as they bulk buy. Don't overlook the supermarkets...
I have been known to drink anything, especially when drunk. Now I am more selective. Jack Daniels, red and white wine, lager, cider and port......not all in the same glass though.
