I've used various oils before on my bikes, but which do you recommend?

I'm currently using Silkolene pro4. Expensive and to be honest I don't think it's that good.

    Thanks Arthur

What do you think of putoline oil? I used this in my last bike and I really liked it. It made the engine smoother feeling and the gear change smoother.

I've never tried the castrol yet and at that price it's really tempting me.

This has been debated on a previous (What oil bla bla) thread and as i remember it seemed to end in semi was best .Can this be ended for us underlings with some Arthur type data please.

I think its accepted if you own a 'burner' ... you will use less with semi-synth

What I'm using. I rate Silkolene highly, used to use the fully on my turbo cars. Fully used if your doing a lot of TD's but I've used semi as it was suggested and seems to work well.Touring, the Odd TD and used 600mil of oil in the first 4000 miles

I use the Semi Castrol GPS 10-30w as I too was advised not to use a fully synthetic but I can't remember why now does anyone know ? I m not 100% sure but I think it might have been you get some clutch slip with the fully synthetic ?????

Semi 10-30 without a doubt Ill never run fully In mine again if you use fully and ride very hard it plays havoc on the slipper clutch making it slip big style all the TT bikes are running semmi got it on good authority from a TT Mechanic ;)

Road....use semi synth, fully synth isnt needed on a road blade, plus it plays havoc with the friction plates in your slipper clutch.

track..Fully synth, but adjust your slipper clutch accordingly

for either it has to be castrol, its the recomended oil for a reason.
