    Hi all,

I fancy getting some black rear sets for my HRC '09 blade.
    Can anyone recommend any?

    Cheers

I got a set of TRW off a forum member and after a bit of fettling to get the fit right, due the the can and the length of my legs, i'm well happy, i think they look great, they feel great and have race shift set up if needed. Some pics -

@ fez .. yes i did mate and i'v had to move the tax disc now cuz i fitted a ' gilles gear shift support ' and there's no room for it, but that was the best place in my view ......... gutted now cuz i had to mount above the left caliper on the fender mount ..:( edit - I might just take it off and leave it under the rear seat cowl ..

I have Gilles VCRs they are great in my opinion, good adjustment etc but pricey compared to other makes but they do have a built in rear brake switch which is one less thing to worry about :)

Si: would never have thought of that. Cracking idea!
Jamie: Gilles rear sets look the biz. Would have to stealth purchase those though, as the missus already knows I've just had a new Yoshi end can. ;)

My gilles rearsets did turn up at work !! not home as my wife would kill me if she found out..... I bought mine from Calsport as they were the cheapest I found, excellent service and were delivered next day

You get the ocasional set on ebay but always seem to be gold and I like you wanted all black.

I do love the Rizoma rearsets that ColinBR has fitted the quality of their kit is truely amazing ! but so is Gilles ;)

Ahhh the old deliver to work ploy. Nice touch. ;)
Are they easy to fit? I'd say my mechanical skill level is on par with Jeremy Clarkson.
I like those Rizoma ones too. Never heard of those before.

If you don't have the quickshifter like I do they will be easy, I had to cut down the shift rod which took time, also you have to cut into the OE brake switch lines and crimp in the cables from the fitted VCR brake switch, which is easy enough I used Halfords inline crimps :)

The instructions are good and easy to follow, and you can always ask me for pics and info if you require it :) just send me a PM

Jamie, what made you choose the VCRs over the other Gilles model? I prefer the look of the VCRs for sure, but wondered if there was any other factor?

I have a set of Gillies FX Racing which are black with a silver heelplate. They look really good and I am very happy with them.

I do love the Rizoma rearsets as well the quality is superb, but liked the carbon heal plates and the brake switch on the gilles
