I've never watched MotoGP other than a UK round, thinking about travelling further afield in 2017. Can anyone advise if Spain, Italy or Czech rounds are best for watching, and what the region is like generally as am thinking about staying for a week or so...cheers!
Assen GP is a must. Atmosphere great. Have done LeMan, locals are mental. Doing Aragon later this year. Shame they no longer go to Estoril as that's nice place to stay
We did Jerez ( southern spain ) this year, great place and the atmosphere is amazing, the spainish love Moto GP. chickened out tho didn't go on bike, flew over hired a car and a villa outside Malaga for pretty much the same as it would have cost for fuel, tyres and tolls. That said roads are brilliant away from motorways and would have loved to ride on them.
This year me and a mate are riding over to the Austrian MotoGP, Last year we rode to Mugello via Nurberg ring but rode the Formula one track there, Mugello is a huge MUST. , year before we rode to Czeq republic, Brno via Nurberg ring,,Colditz castle on the way back is a must.Year before rode to Barcelona, excellent place, then year before that Aragon, So it is a must I reckon every year, something to look forward to,if you want company then keep in touch and join us.
Oh and a few years ago I on my own, flew easy jet to Madrid, had a pre booked hire bike there, rode to ValenciaMoto GP,,that was a good trip.
hmmm looks like a few options...will have to wait till 2017 calendar is confirmed. Will be fly/drive and a villa though, too many boat trips for my liking coming from IOM. Thanks for all input, appreciated.
Thinking of something similar next year as well. I'm in central Scotland and I've been to Donington 09 and Assen 14 both on bikes . I was thinking maybe Sachenring or Le Mans , any information / advice very much appreciated.
I've been to the Catalunya MotoGp for the last 3 years (not long back) and have never been disappointed. A superb circuit, brilliant racing and so far I haven't got wet. Great to combine it with a bike trip through the Pyrenees and a few nights in Barcelona.
