Sorry about the late notice, i didn't find out the destination until very late myself :(
so only 3 of us went  but that's better than none :D
my first time up to Whitby on my bike, some great bike stops, and loads of bikers out, plus the roads up north Yorkshire are awesome, will have to do this a few more times ;)
and all day i only saw One cop car pull over a biker

Nice, you should have popped down to the whistlestop though, it was heaving today 100+ bikes maybe 150.

It is nice up on the west cliff aswell though if not a little chilly

Simon myself and a friend were heading to the Whistlestop but when we got to Helmsley a couple of biking friends told us that there were a number of camera vans and traffic officers on the Pickering to Whitby road. We decided discretion being the better part of valour and all that to head back the way we came (Sutton Bank-Thirsk-Northallerton-home). Hope you had a good run out all the same :)

F1reblade you are right about the camera van + cops, they have been all over here for the last month so i have been sticking go some local fast b-roads where i know they wont be. You would have been better going over to stokesley and then over to whitby on the guisborough road

Maybe 150 was a bit high but certainly 100. I will make sure to come and meet you next time if you can give a little more notice

Yeah we did consider that Fez but as we'd covered some mileage anyway we thought we'd head home. I do like the Helmsley road (being on my doorstep) but some of those drystone walls have been a bit close for comfort at times ;)
