Who has installed Carbon upper tank inserts ?

    I had a pair of carbon tank panels delivered today , The ones your knees grip on to.

    Iv got them on as tight as possible but they won't go the last half a mm tight to the lock tabs.

    With the tank cover back on the bike they look fine but i know if you kneel down you can see they are not perfectly flush .

    Is everybody's like that or are mine sketchy ?

    I know my bikes a different model to yours but mine are as you describe on my 06 bike.

    Probably the same style locking tabs thou mate . At least that makes 2 of us. Looking at the bike it looks fine and i doubt anyone would notice but i know the gaps are there lol

    I know what you mean, everyone else with think it looks fine but it will slowly do your head in knowing they aren't right!

    I was thinking just that a few days ago but thought better of it, i'd only go and slip and bugger the finish up knowing my luck.

    I heavily modded mine to get them closer - still a gap...just not as good as the placca ones.
    Am thinking of going down the 'carbon stick on wrap' route as per flatstick...

    Iv done the under seat ones with black carbon wrap but i want to fit stomps so didn't think it suitable. Looks like a slight gap is the norm thou.. Ill take a pic before i go to work this morning
