I found it elsewhere, honest! The thread was titled something like this is not quite what I had in mind hanging around with mates. I opened it to be greeted by that!
Well, I take the odd risk with my well being. I enjoy the occasional alcoholic beverage (I'm sorry, but it's true), I eat a lot of bacon, and have been known to cross the road in Rome. I also forego the airbagged, crumple zoned sanctuary of my car for skimpy leather armour and fling myself down the highway now and then. The point is, none of them in itself is causing me direct physical harm. They just might do if I overindulge (or screw up...), but 'this'... You can't do 'this' without first puncturing yourself, so there's no inherent 'risk taking' buzz. It's the worse possible outcome without the dopamine expectation, so the point is...? I bet she's not afraid of the post performance tetanus shot though.
Facinating that the skin is actually holding up the main weight of the bones & flesh without ripping .......... I wonder if you're a massive pie muncher if you have to have more hooks?
