I have managed to break my LHS wing mirror off my new toy, helped by my child's scooter falling from above, onto it. Luckily is just snapped the 'arm' where it meets the nose cone fairing and no other damage caused. My question is (before I buy I full unit), are all the bits of the wing mirror available to purchase separately? I have stripped it all down and I actually only need a small section of the arm.
I also recently did this trying to fit the bike between a bus & a range rover on my way home. The mirror/ indicator assembly is annoyingly only available in two parts from Honda. The part I needed (front) joins the arm to the fairing bracket & was £106 from Honda Maidstone. An aftermarket OEM spec complete unit was £59 from the same dealer.
be careful with the after-market ones, many of the cheaper ones do not fold. The ones I got did fold but the day lights were a different colour but the arms and actual mirror unit were interchangeable so my current mirrors are a hybrid of OEM and aftermarket.
I'm going to fit the aftermarket one this weekend but it will probably end up being a hybrid of mainly the original mirror. I'll let you know what it's like. I was genuinely shocked at how easily the Honda one broke! It was the lightest of touches but still snapped the metal part! Not even a scratch on the plastic where it touched the bus
I ordered them from Laguna motorcycle in Maidstone, aftermarket ones. I only used the parts I needed & kept most of the standard item. Where is yours broken?
Both mirrors need the bottom half replaced (where they meet the head fairing) so it sounds ideal I'll give them a call. Cheers
I tried calling them, but they could only find a cheaper set (Trojan MRU014). They said that, if you have the part number, then they should be able to find them. It would probably be on the underside of the top half. Not sure if you binned them or not...
