whilst browsing biketrader looking for a winter commuter i came across a HONDA FMX 644 cc FMX650 -5 650 it's relatively close to me and not priced too bad at all, obviously i've googled and read up on the model as much as i can however, i'm kinda hoping someoone on here will have owned one or knows someone who has owned one so that i can get some honest opinions on it.
I used to have a Suzuki DRZ 400SM which whilst it was good fun it was pretty sluggish

    I've never owned one, however...
That was the bike that no-one bought because it was a commuter dressed up like a supermoto.
I would prefer to buy a supermoto and use it as a commuter.
Don't be fooled by the extra cc over the DRZ because I think the FMX will be on a par powerwise (maybe a tiny bit more torque).

My mate has one that he sometimes uses on the Sunday morning breakfast bimble, we are on sportsbikes and only leave him briefly on the twistys and we don't hang around. Its good for around 90+ mph. Personally I prefer the XT660 that I took out for a test, as was planning the same as you.
