Got a dark + clear visor + carrying cases..

I have a thing for yellow, but it has red strips..that match the Repsol i guess - Orange Bike, yellow \ red lid.. ;)

I have polished the lid, how to do keep it clean? looking at my old one its filthy in comparison!

Also if i get pulled with the dark visor during the day - can the enforce points, or is it just a fine? What is the legal tint limit? can a visor be bought with this tint?

I always wear my dark tint with no problems... Even got pulled twice for other things... They did not even mention the dark visor... If you get pulled or at a traffic light next to police, just lift up the visor so they can see your eyes... that's what I do....

    I am in London though...

Lol! That visor is DEFINITELY not a legal tint!

It's up to the discretion of the copper as to whether they let it slide. A directive went round a couple of years ago changing it from a definite offence to a discretionary one. Easiest thing to do is to carry a clear one if you're going to be riding at dusk or night time. I usually carry mine if riding late on.

    Legally:

    1) The strap must be done up.
    2) It must fit properly.
    3) It must be an approved safety helmet. It'll either display a BS6658 sticker on the outside, or an EC approval mark somewhere inside. Only BS 6658 types A & B or EC Regulation 22 type 05 series are legal in the UK.

    Visor Law
Unlike helmets wearing a visor or goggles isn't a legal requirment but as soon as you use one a whole new bunch of rules apply to you.

    Legally

    1) It must be an approved visor / goggle It'll either have a BS4110 mark or the new EC Regulation 22 type 05 mark.

    2) A 50% tint is the darkest you're allowed by law and even then it will be marked "for daylight use only". Dark, mirrored etc. visors are illegal, wear sunglasses instead.

But I've never been pulled in daylight with my 80% tint visor and thats what you Colin Edwards rep hemet visor looks like, I don't remember him ever riding a Repsol though and I'm sure the Yamaha stripes across the back go well with the Honda.[IMG] Nice lid though, it would look good with an R1.

    Try this - VENTURE SHIELD
Warm soapy water and soft cloth after each ride to get rid of bugs and occasional application the silicon fluid to the visor seal, can also remove the interior padding and wash that to keep it fresh.

Love the look of that lid.

I've also never had an issue with my dark tint visor. I always carry a clear one with me just in case though.
