Thinking of heading down if weather good - not got ticket yet and may do the Saturday only to save a few £'s - still gives chance to see bikes, riders etc and you see more of the race on the TV anyway! Not looked into it in any great detail but be good to see if the Blades can do well.
It's a possible yes from me. I'm looking at the weather at the moment to see if I can get a road trip sorted down south. Was thinking about heading to the lake district for a night, heading down to Milton keynes and Alton towers for a day or so, then onto silverstone for the racing. Never been to any bike racing before, and I thought silverstone would be a good way to break my duck
Hi mate , don't think I'm putting a damper on anything , but silverstone is not the best track for your first , your not very close to the track , (cause F1 run off). Plus you have high bloody fencing to look thu race day is a rip off price , but if you do go I'd just do the sat and watch sunday on tv Myself I would do Cadwell park in 26. Days time much much better track closer to the action ,bikes, riders oh and the mountain just watch from there god . . For sat ,sun at cad most prob same price for sat alone at sliverstone Bsb better day out , well that's what I think ,
Looking at the weather for this week coming it looks like I may be going nowhere anyway I was just hoping with being off this week that I could add it to my road trip as a bit of a send off. I honestly can't believe this weather this year. Ggrrrrrrrr!!!!!
I am going on Sunday with the Kawasaki Riders Club, Honda also has a garage day you just need to bring your key to get in.
Honda to Open Garage at Silverstone World Superbike Championship Round Honda owners and race fans visiting the tenth round of the World Superbike Championship at the Silverstone circuit in the UK this weekend (3-5 August) are being offered another fantastic opportunity to see the Honda World Superbike Team at work – up close and personal
Honda to open garage at silverstone world superbike championship round For the fourth time this season, the team will be erecting a special pit display system in its garage with clear panels on one side, offering a close view of the riders and technicians at work during the weekend’s practice and qualifying sessions. The system offers visitors an eye-level view of wheel changes, suspension adjustments and rider de-briefs; a fascinating insight into the workings of a top-level world championship motorcycle racing team. To gain access to the Silverstone garage, Honda owners will need to present their Honda vehicle ignition key (from either Honda bike or car) at the team’s garage entrance. In return, they’ll receive a team wristband to allow them into the garage and the heart of the action. Team Manager, Ronald ten Kate: “We have built a platform in our garage at the Assen round of the championship on several occasions, but this is a new system for this season. It has proved to be really popular and allows visitors to see what goes on from a mechanic’s eye level and we hope makes Honda owners really feel part of the team.” Jonathan Rea #65: “It’s fantastic for the fans to be able to get up close and see how we prepare for the various on-track sessions during the weekend. I’m so focused on raceday that I don’t notice things going on around me and who comes in and out of the garage but I am pleased to be giving such an insight to Honda fans.”
