I might have, inadvertently dropped a bollock this morning while cleaning my chain. I was using wurth brake and chain cleaning spray and fired it without double checking the alignment of the nozzle and hosed the rear tyre. I wiped it off immediately but it left a brown staining where it hit. I soaked a cloth in isopropanol and worked at it but there is stil a mark there and it started to feel sticky where I was rubbing so I stopped. I was going to try and, carefully, scrub it off but the heavens opened at that point and drove me back into the garage. Should I worry about this or, as it was a cleaning agent, not worry about this, do you think.
As already said - sure will be fine, but by Christ please take it easy for a good 10 / 20 miles!! I'm always amazed at people who have their Scott oilers cranked up and there is oil all over the left side of the tyre.... That would freak me out!!
I magage to get some on my tyre nearly every time even with the drapped cloth over both tyre and bottom panel like the boys say clean it and hit the road Jack.
If it makes you feel any better a while back I reached some stationary traffic so decided to filter, not realising the reason for the hold up was a crew painting fresh road markings. By this time it was too late and suddenly both tyres were wrapped in a semi fresh tarmac and white paint coating resulting in a ride Barney Rubble would find uncomfortable. Fortunately upon arriving at the destination as embarrassment meant I had to continue after ruining their hardwork the mix began to set and I was able to pick the worst off, deciding a hard ride home should dislodge the rest. Unfortunately in the process showering any following vehicle in sizeable debris.
What a brilliant story I have the funniest mental picture in my head of what the bike tyres looked like, thanks for sharing
My sister had this toy, a little handle that you could fit these rubber wheels into with impressions of bunny rabbits, flowers, dicky birds and the like, that you pressed into an ink stamp and then rolled onto a piece of paper (or the living room wallpaper as she thought). I 'spect it looked a bit like that.
On your neighbors drive would be the obvious place, a free show of fireblade power and burnt rubber, who could possibly be upset by that or any local supermarket car park after 8pm and the boyracers will quite literally wet themselves
My only worry is its more the side of the tyre than the face. Hard to burn that out and more likely to cause an unpleasant surprise if it's a problem.
