BMW does look good. Don't reckon your px value will be much though. Wait for them to insult you and that'll make your mind up.
I'd be looking into the servicing and parts cost before going near a BMW, as much as I love BMW cars and bikes that is why I wont have one. God knows why servicing of certain makes seems to warrant needing a second mortgage compared to other makes. Hate having the pea taken just because of the badge.
You're right mate. I've got no illusions about BMs'. I've owned several and tbh, they are not as well finished or reliable as Hondas'. Having said that, I did buy 2 years Extended Warranty (£450.00) when I bought my ABS 'blade. Nick.

Haha I guess your right! I have thought about one myself but then realise that the blade is probably fast enough.. The Beamer is nice though.. Especially with that colours and can..

I like your current bike much more than the beemer however i suspect you've already made your mind up
look mate if you like it go for it i had a shot on one its faster high up in the rev range low down the blade kills it my opinion looks wise the blade is better but then again i like the hp4 s1000rr
I see whats drawing you el nicko, but yours is lovely, and the S1000 is a lovely thing too, but you can't use them all year round and expect them to stay looking nice ! They have big corrosion and finish problems.. At the MNC show back in february i was on the BM stand doing a bit of staring and tyre kicking, and after i asked the salesman about some of the horror stories id heard from s1000 owners, he confessed and said, "yeah, we have had a lot of complaints but they're meant to be for fair weather use" ! WTF !
I'd ride one to be sure as they lack mid range grunt compared to the Blade but are very fast at the unuseable spectrum (on the road) of the rev range so I'm told. Servicing does't sound too bad either, Barney had a full service all bar a valve check and plug change for his 1st service at a very good price. Plus who doesn't want to be king dong at the local bike meet.
The only way to find out is to go on a good 2 hour road test on all the types of roads you will be using the bike on,you would be amazed how many bikes i liked the look of but once ridden,they were taken out of the equation. (rsv4 , dorsoduro, multistrada,mv agusta rivale ,kawasaki z750) all road tested but none were what i expected. The thing i noticed about the blade is that from less than 4000 revs in top gear ,the bike will pull ,whereas on some bikes you are knocking it down 2 gears to get them to pull cleanly. I have just bought a 6 month old ducati for £3k less than new ,all because the original owner bought it from the dealer without bothering to road test it first,and found out it was not really the autobahn mile muncher that he expected.
Try a +2 rear sprocket, that will give you more than a beemer up to 150.And you haven't lost alot of money either.I tried to buy an SP but the dealer would only give me 5500 on a 61 plate.So keeping mine for a while. Its your money and only you will have to live with whatever you decide.Ride one then see
