Twice I have been pulled over by the police on my bike, once on a 125 for "excessive accelleration". I spotted them a mile off and made sure to stick to the limit. Once on a 500cc for riding without a licence plate (because I just lost it to a ditch and was on my way home). Both times, I pulled over like a respectable citizen. Thing is, I have never before now owned a machine where I genuinly feel I could get away. So, question for you all. If you were clocked doing silly, license losing speeds, would you stop?

Don't ride the road anymore but if I went past a stationary car doing over a tonne I'd keep it pinned. I've had this conversation with a relative who's worked for the police on an unmarked zx12 and he said he'd do the same lol :)

Yes i would, most if not all police cars have cameras and just not worth it in the end. making something minor like say speeding into something much much bigger

A few year ago on my 350lc I did run and had cops looking for me for hours.I got away with it but back then all they had were radios and mk3 escorts.Today they have cameras on every street corner, helicopters and quick bikes.Had a section 59 just over a year ago by speeding/antisocial behaviour with no proof of what speed I/we were doing.I was doing silly speeds banked over coming onto a dual carriageway. The two wpc's had no way of knowing what speed we were doing so slapped us with a warning that lasts a year.My answer to the question is yes I would cos failing to stop in court in front of a judge will give you a ban.You did wrong, you got caught its then 50/50 with what they give you.

Most traffic cars that are lying in wait have active cameras that would grab a snapshot of your plate,so running might be futile as they'd be waiting for you at home. With the way they seem to punish bikers more,I'd pull over. Risking your license is one thing, risking your freedom is another. It would not be a very pleasant experience for me on the other side of the bars:eek:

About 100 years ago I got chased by the police through town. A real rabbit warren , it was and I was on a tiny bike. I did the old turn off the lights and ride with your thumb on the passing button to give them as little chance of getting my reg as possible and led them in circles until they got bored and I could make a run for it. Didn't need to buy a drink for weeks.

However, I believe they've invented something called 'the wireless' and have a device called a 'helimacopter', so there's no way I'd chance it again in the 20th century...

No force will actually pursue bikes anymore (not that any of the 43 forces will publicise this) but as mentioned they don't need to so it's futile to run in the first place. Also if you're man enough to take the chance then at least have the backbone to hold your hands up when you get caught.

If you run you will need to ditch your leathers and lid and also destroy any photo and video of you wearing said kit.

100+ will get you a temp ban and increased insurance. Failing to stop will multiple it by an order or magnitude.
