Been out for the last couple of weeks and due to the extreme cold and poor road conditions my bike is giving me 52mpg over a 780 mile run. That's not bad so i can't grumble when in summer it drops to 35-40.:D

You're a braver man than me mate. I'd need to peel myself off the bike in the conditions the last couple of weeks.

As you say though 52mpg can't be bad. I'd take that any day of the week :)

I got that sort of mileage myself the day I picked it up . My mate who took me in his car asked me not to bugger off at warp speed
on the way home . And his car really drinks the juice over 70mph so I had to cruise at 65mph for 150 miles . Amazing how far a tank
    full will take ya :p

Touring last sept I did check a few times the current MPG. With luggage and crushing at 80 I was getting over 50MPG. When doing 95 it dropped to just under 50 at a smooth speed. Only whe doing a bit more was I getting under 40MPG ;)

All the above was in 6th, so over 150 ona tank was easy. Where as I've had less then 90 miles till the fuel light when using mostly 1 and 2nd gear over in Wales on a run
