Just fitted the yoshi. Fitting went fine and what a sound!!! It does seem very close to the swing arm is this normal? And having fun with the panel. Best I can get is about an inch or so away from belly pan any tips for a better fit??
Keep bending the brackets bit by bit, mine has about a 1 cm gap between the filler and belly pan, it's just a fiddle to get it right
It just doesn't seem to go close at all, put lower left bolt in it can't go any closer as mounted to pipe, but that can't be adjusted as mounted through foot peg bracket, hmmmmmm!!
Well something isn't right as this is it with just the lower left bolt in place!! It's as if it all needs moving forward but I had to move it back to get the bolt lined up for hanger support!
Hey bud I fitted my yoshi on tuesday night when I got in from work, ended up lying outside house at 9.30 with 110v lights rigged up try to get the panel fitting right also bit of a headache but got there just takes time, sure I had it on and off about 3 times. The way i found was best was to take pipe off line up top triangle bracket then long one underneath fit panel with out exhaust line it up nice i have about 1 mm gap now. Then unscrew the panel, fit pipe make sure its fitted right up to flange on front section of exhaust, i had to bend long bracket down to get pipe on then bend back up. Fit pannel, exhaust has about 10mm play when you undo allen bolt to slide forward and back.. Fiddley but worth it in the long run..
Think that's my issue as I noticed exhaust wasn't right up to flange when slid it on!! Will slacken the mount bolt off and try to move whole exhaust forward a bit hopefully narrowing the gap!!!
It takes a fair amount of force holding front and rear of exhaust and squeezing them together.. exhaust is tight to the swing arm a few mm at the most.. Heres a pic of how mines sits now.
yes it do,s sound and look like you need to slide link pipe onto headers further. my cans tight to swingarm too can only just fit a cloth between the 2 when cleaning can. after a bit of tinkering this is how my panel fits.
If only mine went this close! He he, will try it tomorrow, think the hard part will be getting the foot bracket bolt lined up onced moved the exhaust forwards!!
to get the footrest bolt in when you pushed the link pipe forward you,ll have to slide the can slightly off the can end of link pipe. i would push link pipe forward on headers then tighten clamp then fit can mounting bolt before you fit springs from can to pipe.
