After getting the right-royal fob-off from Honda re: the rusting/discoloured exhaust problem, I'm now looking a swapping the stock out for a Yoshi R77 slip-on, but I'm a little confused after checking the US site as it looks as though only the full system is road legal and the slip-ons aren't? Is that right, or are the slip-ons legal? Also the US prices are a damn-sight cheaper than prices here (£400 v £700) so has anyone bought a Yoshi from the US? Are they the same as the ones you get here? :help:
Is that cos of the lack of cat? I notice the road-legal Akra slip-ons include cats, so might have to go for one of those instead. Stupid question - but how do the Yoshi slip-ons get past MOTs? do people swap them out before taking it in??
Just get in contact with Tom at Biohazard in the states, he'll sort you out with a Yoshi and help with shipping etc
Don't need a Cat to be road legal mate. As long as it doesn't say "Not for road use" or Race Use Only" on it. If it sounds very loud, a copper may pull you and ask you to go to a bike shop for their opinion. Sort this bit by carrying a dB killer or baffle.
Thanks, will definitely look into that. The Akky slip-on is £450 cheaper than what the dealer has quoted me here (minus whatever the shipping costs). Really fancied the Yoshi though as it has the fairing fill-in piece.
My 600 passed its MOT with out a cat and with a two brothers exhaust. I had the baffle in thou so make sure you get 1 with it
Thanks all. Looks like the Yoshi comes with a baffle, so reckon I'll go for that. Have pinged Tom at Biohazard so wait to see what he says about shipping. Hope I don't get stumped by import tax, but even if I did it'll be a massive saving on the rip-off prices over here!
I've had my R77 fitted for a few months. I had no issues with getting on track days with the baffle in. I don't use the baffle when on the road. Have had no issues with mine on the road and as said it does not have "not for road use on it".
It's not that loud mate honestly. I run the akra evo on my rc8 and that's truly loud, the Yoshi on the blade without db killer is just about right I reckon.
