Right then peeps, the time has come to sell the Blade. Gonna be a little gutted to see this go but a the chance to buy a brand new bike doesn't come along for me that often!! If I'm not happy with a Street Triple R then I'll be back on a later Blade next year. Most of you on here have seen my bike, I've owned this for the last 9 months and it is in very good fettle. I personally think you'd struggle to find a 12k Blade in this condition for the money. It hasn't missed a beat in the last 1300 miles I've ridden. Its had a few items fitted to it in that time and they've mostly been removed as I like to recoup my money when it's time to part company. All that is left on the bike and will go with the bike are the translucent red Hel braided lines front and rear and Moto Grafix number boards which are I suppose like marmite but I love them. They are unique in that MG took off those god awful wings and changed the border colour to match the bike. The first thing I did after purchasing the bike was to remove the wheels and footrests & hangers and get everything powder coated to smarten things up. The wheels were done in an anthracite / graphite colour and the footrests in gloss black. The original exhaust was moved on and I fitted a zero mile unit from a 10 plate bike as it has the fluted cover to hide the poor Honda build quality and lack of paint, I also fitted a zero mile rear shock also from a 10 plate bike so it rides very well. The under tray was also removed and an R&G unit colour coated and fitted. The bike has recently had a pair of Pilot Powers fitted and all calipers have been stripped and given a service with red rubber grease and the brakes are superb. The service book has been stamped right up to the point of my purchasing it (all Honda except for the oil change and new 530 chain which were carried out by Ultimate Moto in Boldon, Tyne & Wear). I have since changed the oil around 400-500 miles ago from the supplied Putoline to my favoured Silkolene Super 4 which made a marked difference to the gearshift which is now much slicker. As such, this bike needs nothing other than a new owner. The only disappointment for me is when I had the R&G engine cases fitted it seems to have marked the left hand engine case (or it was like this prior to fitting them and I never noticed), other than that, the bike is in mint condition. There are a few minor rub marks under the pillion seat. If I get the asking price I will include the headlight covers, a winning red genuine solo seat cowl and Powerbronze carbon exhaust cover but should I get knocked down I will be keeping these to make back the loss and the bike will be supplied with the pillion seat only and the original standard exhaust cover. I am looking for £5750 for the bike on eBay and it comes with full Honda history, 2 Keys, a Meta 357V2.1 Thatcham Category 1 alarm (another marmite addition) to keep the cost of the insurance down, and does not require an MOT until the end of Feb next year. The bike is currently showing 11756 miles although this may increase slightly as it is still in use. (I forgot to change the trip to show total miles!!!!) For members of this forum I will accept £5500 for the bike but no further offers. [/IMG]
Had a quick read on eBay mate. You may want to shorten down the description a bit. Peeps will likely get bored of trying to read a war and peace novel. I find it best to keep it as short and as informative as possible. Not trying to dis the sale only trying to help with selling on eBay mate.
You should have seen the ad when I sold the K5 Gixer!! At least anyone who is genuinely interested will know what they're getting. I will have a look but out of interest were you looking on a mobile or PC as it doesn't look too long on the laptop.
Hi @exuptoy your ebay add is fine i wouldn't shorten it. Shows your care and taken time on the advert , (therefore spending time looking after the bike) The idiots (time wasters) only look at the pictures anyway
Cheers for the input fellas, I have shortened it slightly but only to take out the chaff. What do ya think?
Provisionally sold. Taken as px against a 15 Street Triple R. I'll leave the eBay ad run until Sunday when it arrives.
Now NOT provisionally sold. Deposit placed on the STR but the guy can't insure the Blade due to his S1000RR theft earlier in the year!! Glad I never pulled the ad now. Still for sale.
You do realise you can't keep that avatar now you're abandoning the sexy blade So here's your new one..... A suitable ' trumpet ' for your new Trumpet
Just replaced the marked engine case with one from Lee @wedgiewolves#223 superb job and looks like new again.
