Yes I did think about doing that Sinewave, not sure I want to start stripping the cams out though.. I guess you dont know what size shim you need until you open it up and see whats installed?

Also after I did the valves made up one PAIR blanking plate, will have to do the other tomorrow as took ages hehe

    Thanks Raphael :)

Well started work on my new remote water res, made a template out of thin board to get the sizing correct. All clears the swinging arm but is close! Going to add a couple of those external site glass levels to the left side and a nice aeroquip fitting to the rear to plumb to the rad. Going to have a go cutting out the alloy myself then just taking it somewhere to get welded up

why don't you just use a bottle at the front of your fairings like they do on race bikes? easier, more room and they make the bike go faster ;)

Well engine casings and yoke have been posted off this morning to Vapour Blast UK in Norfolk, been speaking to Phil there and very impressed with the service so far! Looking forward to seeing the finish on these as it’s a much more gentle process than bead blasting as its done in water and leaves the alloy a nice sheen polished look which I will just protect with AF50.

Will post pics of course when I get then back
There details are here if anyone is interested in having anything done Vapour Blasting UK

OK more news :) have arranged whats being carbon dipped with Wicked coatings Wicked Coatings | Hydrographics & Carbon Dipping Specialist These parts are going off for the carbon fibre treatment, its an interesting process dipping the part in water then adding a very thin film of carbon sheet, pull the item out through the sheeting and hey presto a very good carbon look. They then paint the part in 2 pack clear to seal it.

    having these parts done

I would get real carbon fairing inserts but you just cant buy them anymore :(
