Shop around. I have the same bike as you and my local Honda dealer quoted me just 2 hours labour to do it, due to the fact they've figured out a way of bleeding the front without removing the exhaust headers. I ain't had mine bled yet as it only happens very rarely on my bike - but the system is long overdue a bleed so will prolly have it done before next year.

    Exactly what I did matey!
the non ABS blade I exchanged for is 'The Mutts Nuts' I love it so much.
Its such a shame as the ABS is brilliant most of the time then you just lose trust in it and thats why we buy a HONDA isn't it?
    Enjoy your bike @BEK

Yep that's what I'm gonna do because I'm really liking this blade apart from the ABS so I'll just ride with it for this season then move on

Having re read all this again I have to ask; Have all the contributors to these threads filled out a VSA /DVSA form outlining this fault as justification to order a recall or investigation? Telling everyone on this site and what they did next(Remove the system) and not getting the official department in on the game will not force Honda to acknowledge the problem. There is an online form at forms.vosa.gov/Vsdr/create

Vosa already opened and closed an investigation which they tested Honda supplied cherry picked bikes and showed vosa the system schematic plans showing suposidly incorporated fallback system (which doesn't work properly.) this was enuff for vosa to say the system is safe and working as it should so they closed the investigation and took no further action!

Ok, I've caught up on all the threads now so I'm going to go quietly. I can see we are going nowhere with this so all I can say is if it happens to me on a ride out come spring there's going to be a very cheap 2 owner, low mileage Repsol CBR for sale!!
    Thanks for the replies, guys.

I`ve just taken delivery of a 2015 C-ABS and after reading this thread I am scared stiff of taking it out for a ride, especially in the busy Cardiff commuter traffic. Does anyone know if the problem still exist on the updated 2014 and 2015 models?
    Thanks

Somewhere in all the threads on the US/Canada side of the pond there was a piece from a guy about having an ECU changed FOC by his Honda dealer because there was a free refit for bikes exhibiting these problems. I can't put my hand on it at the moment but if anyone else has read it, it adds weight to the fact of a later upgrade. Best of all it was a dealer free fit. If there is such a scheme Honda would be hard pressed to deny it, or the problem.

Since I bought my Honda in Jun 2015 I noticed when ever I leave the bike for more then 5 days first touch to front brake was bad.
Brake lever was too soft and I could almost hit the throttle with the brake lever.
And also noticed that lever position when starting braking is not always the same.
I bought Brembo RCS19,and again problems, too soft compare to my BMWS1000RR and SuzukiGSXR1000.
After that I bleed brake for more than 5 times, and after all that done now looks fine.

I never called Honda dealer in my country for this problem because they are useless.
Example: For first service on my Honda I had to bring bike to dealership due to warranty.
After service I noticed screws are missing from fairings and oil left on exhaust, I was pissed off and never visited them again.

    Over Christmas I was browsing the books etc that came with my 2010 Blade and in a 20th Anniversary booklet for the CBR/RR/RA there is a reference to the operation of the brakes, and I quote; You may feel a change in the way the brake lever/pedal reacts when it is operated under the following conditions;
Immediately after turning the ignition switch to ON
After braking to a stop and applying the brakes again.
It also says the ABS is switched off below 4mph / 6km/h.

Doesn't fill one with joy, does it? But it does give a hint as to some of the faults of low speed filtering when the brakes go weird.

I acquired from the states a Honda genuine manual, part no 61MFL07, CBR1000RR/RA/RS, 2008-2015 , and the ABS section is 9mm thick of A4 sheets!! There may well be differences but its going to take some heavy reading to find out. If I thought there was any way of publishing it to the forum I would. Could be problems with copyright though. Job for a rainy day.
