Just found these, not sure if they are the same ones: Super Bike Supply - Your source for sportbike parts and accessories geared for racing and street bikes and their owners. : g-craft replica reservoir - G-Craft
Yep, thats the place. When (if) I hear back, I will let you know the outcome. They quote $65, which is about £43... no idea how much shipping across the pond will add though.
They do look tasty and at that price, it must be worth a punt. To try to help with import tax and all that nonsense, see if they can mark the item up as a gift. Keep us posted.
I managed to make my own cover bracket out of 2 pieces of carbon fibre riveted together at an angle and a spacer behind the bolt holding it on.
Regarding the g-craft replica reservoir from superbikesupply.com, got following reply: Why the price-hike? Surely shipping from USA to England, for something the size of a fag packet and weighing about the same, shouldnt be much at all... or am I being naive?
Took my pegs off today, cable tied the heat shield only until I make a bracket up. I have left the res floating in mid air for now until I purchase a new one or bodge something
That is nuts! Ihave just weighed something which I would imagine to be a similar weight and worked out the postage and it is about £15. I have a friend who lives in LA, so I can ask the redneck shop to send to him and then him send them on to the UK.
I had the g-craft on mine but before I got it I done the brembo res mod. cut the pipe real short fit one of these Brembo Brake Reservoirs Rear/Clutch Reservoir With Vertical Outlet | eBay it will be hidden behind the heel plate and will make the back end look better.
So you can just shorten the existing pipe? Is there a limit to how short? I thought about it but was unsure and being brakes I didnt want to mess
as short as you want, the res hasnt got much weight so it wont come off but you can use a hose clip, I never bothered just like a few other rr5 riders I know and we never had any problems. think my hose was about 3". will try to dig out some pics for you
did an install guide once but i'll be dammed if I can find them. not the best pic but you can make out the top of the res from this angle from the side you can see it is slightly above the top of the heel plate.
then use this type of clip to secure it to the hose that goes to the rear brake, the brembo res as a mount clip to attach to Cable Clips 5-Pack for Brake and Clutch Lines
I made a bracket myself. I just found the write up that covers it all...here you go Honda CBR 1000RR - Brake System Upgrades
Right I have attempted to make a bracket to hold my heat shield in place, please don't laugh to much! I'm hoping it will be ok but we will see lol Oh and don't tell my misses what I have used :-S
