I can’t believe some of the things I read on this forum Come on Honda sort yourselves out. Think I should of brought a Ducati after all
you wont find the specs of them 2 bolts in the manual for some reason.... I torqued mine to 30nm with blue medium locktite on the threads. has been fine since then.... 30nm is about the limit for me when torquing steel into alloy.......specially with them fine threads
30nm? Seems very high. My Aprilia Tuono V4 sump bolts are M6x30 and the Aprilia service manual specifies 12nm.
I have the manual, and the spec is not listed. At least not as far as I could tell. Here is a pic of the only place I see the bolt:
i couldnt find it either.... maybe its in there but i overlooked it... either way, i torqued both the plug and the adapter thingy that holds the oil pressure sensor to 30nm causse thats about right for steel into alloy i felt... locktite on it to make sure its sealed and wont come undone again and you can forget about it....
i thought we where still on about the plugs. not the bolts.....those probably take 10nm max so fingertight....
On the earlier manuals there is a section which refers to 'standard torque values'. Not sure if this might help:
No, go back to post 31 and your reply in post 32. We were talking about the sump /oil pan bolts, not the drain plug.
