I haven't used the Metzelers, but I use the Pirellis on road and track and can say the Rosso Corsas heat up quick and are great in the corners...
No I have never changed the caliper bolts. For Honda to suggest you need new bolts every time you remove the calipers is ridiculous.
Pirelli Rosso Corsa is a fantastic tyre for road and track. Came top in Performance Bikes tyre test.
