Currently trying to find some one that can turn the anodising round very quickly. What would peoples thoughts be on powder coated black instead of anodised black?
Mk3golfcab has done the job now, let him get on with his life! Paint your f'kin own!! Brushed ally looks the bollocks anyway
Yeah but he's possibly finding it a bit of a pain in the arse to get anodised and considering there only two or three of you that want them black...... Is it worth his while when it would be so easy for you to do it yourself? You may have read it differently than I did
Haha... Well I'm easy either way, if it can be done 'en-masse' to save costs I'm all for that; I thought it was a pre-arranged thing but if that has fallen through then, again, I am not going to throw my toys out of the pram ....(my preference would be to have it done for me though )
Trouble with getting them done as a single unit is it'll be around 25-30 quid each whereas as a bulk it'll be around 50 for the lot(from internet pricing) anyway plain ally would look daft on a black swing arm. Trouble with powder coat is it won't match the frame so the part might stick out rather than look made to be there. I said I didn't mind waiting, not for him to travel to the other end of the world to do it today, if there's only 2 or 3 of us then I suppose it's costing too much, but I thought there were more than that
That said looking at the pics, the bracket powdered black and the blade ally might look good, if powder coat does turn out to be the easier option for them. Don't mind a wait though
A black bracket/fixing point with an brushed ally guard would look good too, agreed! Some black satin spray paint would work fine and keep costs down.
Yeah I lube the chain but very minimal and always get rid of the excess from the surface of the chain as that's what all the crap sticks too. Quick wipe off with a wd40 soaked cloth and it's good to go. Bare in mind the bike has less than 500 miles on it so I don't think it'll look this blingy for long!
Hi guys, anodising shouldn’t be a problem, anodising on a tight lead time is a different matter. My normal anodisers are choc-a-block at the minute. Trying a few other avenues to get them sorted for next week. If not it will be two weeks I fear. I want to get them sorted so I can get them out before I go on holiday at the end of the month Sure hope there’s more than 3 people that want them now haha
