I dropped my BMW coming on to the boat on my way home from Spain where all the bikes park it was wet and both wheels went from underneath me , bike fell on me and crash bung took the rest of the impact very lucky no damage apart from a slightly bent crash bung bolt which I can straighten , had to laugh as had no probs in heavy rain on motorways there yet drop it on the boat doing 0mph. :D

As Gary will say almost dropped my bike yesterday, well actually the wind almost blew me and the bike over

Was sad to leave the guys in Pau but Steve's new tyre had loads of grip compared to old.

Had a good run up to small town near limoges on d roads in sunshine with visit to Bergerac for coffee.
Now having stunning meal at hotel with local specialities which are awesome.

Ferry at le harve sat sails 17:00 but easy route from here via Le Mans.

Was an awesome trip, and only 20 mins rain wed late pm and 10 mins thru am.

My front tyre shot, but almost home.

Tyre was a Metzeler M5 Jim, as recommended by Si. Good grip levels but a lot softer than I expected. Did about 2300 miles on it, but all hard and fast riding. Couldn't get an M5 over here so went for a Pirelli Corsa 2 as it's a good match for the front, 148 euros fitted. Also was able to get a 55 (M5 was a 50) and it felt so good straight from the off.
Very disappointed in the mileage from the M5 as I can usually get nearly 3000 from a Racetec!

It appears The rumours are true Jimbo.
I passed the its nice to show, a little late perhaps?
But now it's time for it to Gooooooooo!!
And boy am I enjoying it.
A couple of little dings compared to the pleasure I'm getting out of riding are in fact incomparable.
Getting in the saddle every day just gives great confidence in the bike and the grip. I've certain surprised myself let alone the others who came along.
Seems like every days a track day :)

Yeah not the best in terms of comparison against the racetecs mate...thought you'd get 3k plus no bother out of those.

Thought you might have given the Michelins a go.... But 148 euros is the sensible option! New boots on the Monday after new rear on the thur broke my heart / wallet in Scotland lol

Awesome Gary! So pleased for ya mate, I think it's the fact that you can relax and "today's ride" has no pressure when on tour, as tomorrow is just another day in the saddle - if that makes sense...

You can just chill and enjoy each ride, no rushing out on same roads where you analyse everything against the ride before , no rushing to get home for other commitments etc etc....seen quite a few fellas really come on and click with the bike on tour, bet you can't wait to get the track bike out in anger now ;)

My 'new to me' bt023 is holding up well and will have done 3k with me on it and loada life left.

The front is getting rather tired to say the least.

When you see a new T30 it really does look like a tractor tyre but meant to work perfect.

Almost got one today buy may be a pikey and get a second hand one to match second hand T30 on the back.

And Gary us riding like a proper demon - happy and pleased to admit I was shocked with how he rode some really tight twisty stuff over here, huge improvement from somebody who could mot gp over 75 on a wide open straight a year ago.

The horse thing is priceless if only for bragging rights!

Now at Le Mans on way to le Havre ferry port.

Did not realize it's the 24 hour endurance event with Dunlop, rutter and Simon Andrews for TT legends.

Good atmosphere here at tettre rouge at end of mulsane straight.

Just pulling into Portsmouth and good warm and dry evening.

Plan to meet some folk tomorrow at loomies cafe on A272 so tour continues!

Belting hot again today, good run and rather swift from Le Mans...

Well, staying in a little village called Broto on N260. 45 euros a night for a twin! Rode through an amazing gorge today, took ages as photo opportunities were huge!
Temperature is around 27 degrees! No rain forecast 'til Thursday when we'll be back in England anyway.
Showered, smoking jacket on and ready for some Rioja and fine food!

The sun has been over the yard arm for ages, what’s the matter with the women.....when my old mum started making irrational comments like that my dad shock his head and said, it’s started boys, keep your heads down the menopause has started.

It's a bit of a running joke, David. He was a bit shocked when J poured herself a large one at half ten on Sunday morning while we were sat in the garden.
