Home, minimal rain whole trip. Bit slow home as stopped 3 times / took detours to see people on way. 2850 miles, almost no motorways tolls on way home. Hope Steve and Gary have as good a final few days as I did on trip - worked really well and enjoyed a more relaxed pace made possible by moving on every 2 days. Was also great to see western Pyrenees which are equally stunning and possibly more dramatic than eastern end.
Kenneth, tell Jeanette next time I come I'll bring her with me and we can quaff wine together any time of the day! Some lovely Rioja's over here!
Tonight we stayed in Broto for 45 euros for a twin room! Dined on shrimp and baby eel salad, followed by roast leg of lamb, washed down with a bottle of Protos Rioja. Early night tonight as we've a few miles to cover tomorrow to get back to Potes in the Picos de Europa.
Steve you want to watch that stuff mate, after a couple of bottles Rioja I thought it was a great idea to propose to my spanish ex wife. I am just saying....
As the saying goes, all good things come to an end. Currently situated in the hotel lounge with a beer and chilling after our "to us" massive mileage from Broto-Potes. Going to take advantage of the high temps/luggage free and the opportunity of clear skies to finally complete the Riaño Loop. Set in the Picos De Europa. Got plenty of updating to do on the thread when I get home on Friday, should take a month or so, or indeed, you may see it in the local paper
So! Last but one rideout, couple of tankfuls round the Picos. Tad chilly today at 27 degrees Lol. Seen even more amazing views, in fact, had my one and only mishap when I went into a lefthander gawping at the scenery! Couple of hundred feet drop off to my left and found myself sitting the bike up and executing some delicate emergency braking!! Came round one bend in the middle of nowhere and there's a fecking big dog sunbathing in the middle of the road!! Not happy about being woken up he gave chase which immediately prompted Gary to get on the gas!! Off out now for our last romantic meal together at "our" restaurant. Steak and Rioja. Gary's the bitch tonight Lol!! Laters!!
Ok, so last rideout done and we're back at hotel luggaged up and ready for the trip to the ferry. Safe and sound, Gary's tyre held up well with the nail in it all through the trip but it's completely buggered now! Roasting hot!! Could do without the leathers and riding in a tee-shirt........Alright! Alright it's not going to happen, Keep yer knickers on!! Ok Ken, hope you're ready for us!! Adios dudes!!
