Millau Bridge Font-Romeu-Odeillo-Via near to Puigcerda The world's largest solar furnace using 10,000 mirrors concentrating on an area the size of a cooking pot and achieving temperatures in excess of 3000 degrees! Also housing a science fair.
Pont del Diable Roman aqueduct near Tarragona just down the coast from Barcelona. It's been used for the last 1900 years!
I rode past that furnace in the rain in September - have a better pic of it somewhere - its huge and really busy tourist attraction. Also on the French side when you go up the Col Du TOurmallet take the cable car up to here: Loads and loads to do in your 2 weeks - you also have the Picos in Spain to see
Yeah I saw that too Al thanks. Found a great site you might want to have a look at Atlas Obscura | Curious and Wondrous Travel Destinations Just punch in the area you're going to and all sorts of attractions come up!
Two weeks?.........We're going for 17 days Al! Always fancied the Picos and still never seen it, heard some fantastic reports on it and I believe you can pretty much get round it in a day.
I really wish you wouldn't keep posting, my heads spinning lol, I was on a right one last night. I was weighing up a track day at Catalunya to trying to see if we can get access for the Aragon Moto gp practice, trying to tie it all in for mr fireblokes birthday Spin spin spin spin
17 - you say SevenTeen days! By jesus you could get to Morocco and back in that time lol SPIN SPIN SPIN Gary....
Noooooooooo!! Went there last year and had a seriously bad experience.........turds coming up through the shower, detained at airport and passport confiscated
Guys, & of course Girls. Can I just add to this thread...... Anyone following will know, Thefirebloke and I have already booked our ferry, we are departing Sunday the 8th of September and we are returning Thursday 26th. I've had a few PM's from members recently interested in this trip, however their concerns about the trip being a little longer than some would want/need and the majority and would sooner ride through France than take the ferry. So can I please add, those who wish to do this can by all means make it as long or short as they wish and choose any route that suits their needs! Please don't feel you have to stay the duration of the 17days We aren't planning on being in a specific place at any given time, im sure thefirebloke will agree? it's very easy to accommodate anyone who wishes to join us enroute and share the experience of our European adventure, just so long as we know your coming.
Today's cheeky Bump is maps, any recommendations? Or shall i be OK with this one? Spain & Portugal 2012 NATIONAL Map Michelin National Maps by Michelin 2067171445 | eBay
Michelin Maps are great mate - their recommended routes (highlighted in green) are usually spot on. i'd get a more area specific one though so you get more detail. check out.. Search Results - Online Store - Motorcycle Map, Michelin Maps, Motorcycle Tours, Motorcycle Touring, Motorbike Rides, Motorcycle Atlas, Motorbike Routes they do tailored areas bundle packs. always a winner.
Gary, I have an AA road atlas for Spain with a scale of 4.7 miles to an inch. It's about half an inch thick weighs a little bit but doesn't blow everywhere when you're trying to read it. Next time we meet up I'll bring it along so you can see what you think.
Thanks Steve, I'm sure you had mentioned the fact thinking about it. Just sometimes you can't beat a map spread over the floor rather than looking at a screen all the time. Ooo, whilst your here, I've also been looking around some of the Pyrenees passes, and other things to see, out and about. Nice
