The SP2 has a different swing arm, improved fueling, taller standard screen.

In my opinion having had both, they have their slight differences but they are both awesome. If you were to jump off a modern blade and get on an SP1 or 2, you would initially think they are heavy plus a bit of a battle to chuck round bends. You do get used to them and they have bags of character and they are stunning.

I'n my short time of ownership ive discovered the differences are
    -ecu
    -airbox
    -throttle bodies
    -screen
    -rear shock
    -swingarm
    - livery etc
-genuine Hrc magnesuim parts on the sp1

Main problem with the sp1 Is fueling. Very lumpy etc and typically twin like awfuk in traffic but I guess that's most twins. You can as Bryan who i bought mind off did . He changed the ecu , throttle bodies abd shock etc to the sp2 to improve handling and fueling. Mine is nice and smooth but I'm not a vtwin fan. Guess you could argue which is the best but I'd have to say the sp1 in red is most desirable. Build quality is fabulous, lots of Hrc parts and has lovely magnesium cases. First 1000 were hand built and my chassis number falls into that so makes it a lot more special to me. 11 grand new in 2000 was a lot of brass .sp2 seems to be more money atm to be fair so evo knows. . The sp1 has the Hrc heritage and joey won his last tt on one so it will always be loved by the road racing fans. End of the day its s honda, built to last and will always hold of not increase in value :)

God I wish Honda would do a limited run of New ones!!! I am in the market for one but to find one immaculate which hasn't been tarted up by an M&P catalogue is impossible.

Can't begin to tell you how drawn I have been to these since I first saw one all those years ago.
Like many at the time 11 grand was a lot of money to spunk on two wheels.
Believe me or not, I actually weighed my deposit in to this, which was going in against the new R1 for next year.

Well I ain't getting any younger and I ain't riding any faster.
    So.....
