Guys FYI - all of the standard settings are in the service manual. Front, back, preload etc.

Will this one do the job for a 08 blade shock? Slightly bigger than the last one I posted..

Twisted, it seems that I have kept the tool kit from my old 2010 blade by mistake after trading it in.
Willing to send it to you for the cost of postage if you still need it ?
Pm me your details if interested.

Also just to note - the service manual gives you a complete run down on how I apply suspension settings. So when someone says 'two clicks out' you'll know what that means and how to do it.

As someone suggestion it might be worth firing up a sticky that has maybe the basics and custom settings that we can all have a play with.

Keep you posted on my adjustments.

To be honest I played about and never got it right went to my local suspension specialist "Reactive Suspension" he worked his magic charged £25 and I could not believe the difference worth every penny

So I set everything back to standard last night, other than shock adjustment that requires the c spanner. Now I don't know if it's all psychological but it feels so much better!! Back to the blade I know and love! Forgiving and predictable in the corner. Really happy so far!

    Toth - Cheers mate.

Decided to have a look at suspension in the week as since getting the bike never changed it. I'm the second owner assumed it was still standard, not even close! Was going to go back to standard but found a thread on suspension for my weight from Dave Moss so gave that a go. Jesus Christ what a difference... The bike now glides into corners, braking with greater confidence I really can't describe the change it has made to the bike wish I had done it ages ago!!!!!

Hi this is a really good topic but its nice to see all you slim svelte riders have the ideal settings but is there any settings for the slightly larger rider as we all come in different shapes and sizes im 5, 11 and 17 stone, (opening myself up for some abuse so please fire away) it would be great if i could get some settings please cheers Dave

    Call me obsessed or tight!
But I buy my gear in a size M so it's very fitting then make sure I'm the same shape every spring! :D
That way I don't have to mess about with my suspension or buy new gear ;)

it took me a while to get my suspension right for me, it's just trial and error! At between 13st-14st I started with stock settings then clicked the shock up 1 to position 5, left the compression alone and concentrated on rebound doing half turns at a time until it felt just right!

I watched Dave Moss videos and thought about what is done during a suspension set up! it starts with your weight (preload) then moves onto rebound and lastly compression!

But I do think you can get lost or bamboozled with so much information for example, Cold tears on tyres, hi & low compression etc are all talked about but I think that more regarding aftermarket suspension with precision adjustments and track tyres!

But for road and with stock suspension it's a lot less complicated and less precise! Saying all that if your 3st or 4st or more heavier/lighter than average your probably looking at starting with getting springs for your weight first :)
