HI, firstly let me say sorry for any offense ( lovely bike). Secondly there is always a sellers price vs buyers price just be realistic GLWTS.
Apologies if you dislike my comments in particular, but a standard bike is always gonna make more sense if your shopping for a vehicle. You may be trying to recoup as much money as possible for your outlay inc bits but in the second hand market the bits don't add up for the purchaser. Add up the bits second hand value then subtract from your acceptible price of £7500 and you're looking at the high 6 grand bracket which is the advice that others have offered. No need to take offence. Your in a one make forum where knowledge and experience counts. Most members in any forum know the true value. If you're not happy then ask the mods to delete this and start a new thread without asking for advice.
No offence intended, people are just trying to help. Saying "testing the water" is always going to attract comment, and others are just trying to steer you to a successful sale by guiding you with a market realistic price. Honestly I didn't see it as a serious ad, more a speculative one. Not clear photos, service history etc ? GLWTS, perhaps steel yourself if you do advertise on ebay as people aren't so polite on there !
Not sure how these dealers come up with there prices I bought a ten plate just over a year ago from fowlers of Bristol one owner 1200 miles £7000 look on there website now and they have a ten plate for just under £9000 which seems way over the top it just doesn't make sense
Time of year also plays a part. A £5500 bike in Feb is gonna be £6500 in June and back down to £6000 in a rainy October then back down to £5000 in the following January sale!! They've not knocked a grand off, it'll be a year older and it'll only owe them £4800 anyway!!!!
It's a nice bike and in real nice condition and is low miles.... To try and put it in context regarding your price... I've recently bought a mint '09, RR9 in HRC colours 9,500 miles but with a full dealer service history. Everything about the bike is spot on. Not far off standard with exception of seat cowl, R & G's and a Tail tidy. I paid £5,550. I was very happy to pay that for what I got...
I've the same repsol albeit an 11 abs, paid just over 7k from a dealer, 1 owner immaculate condition with 12k on clock. It had about £1600 extras on it too so tbh I think you may be better selling it standard if it's private sale because dealers won't give you extra for it anyway but glws it's a lovely bike
Dealer prices can go anywhere, when they are selling a bike they push the low miles, the aftermarket bits and stuff as good selling points and look for the customer to pay more because of them..........when it comes to trading in at the dealer tho low miles and aftermarket stuff all get treated with distain as if you just defiled your sister and the price gets marked down and compared to a standard bike with average miles and condition.
http://www.ebay.co.uk/ulk/itm/201421083158 This has just sold, few more miles but perhaps an indicator of where the market is.
You are quite correct sir the reserve wasn't met, but I was merely pointing out where the market is and the money people are willing to pay for an RR9 model bike.
