I'll have a look at the braking now, I was gonna say the galespeed have got to be lighter and especially for the money!!!
Yes but the best wheel on the market for performance are PVM's I think its Y5's without checking they out perform the BSTs for gyroscopics... And yeah Im greeeedy...lol
Really ... so the rims and spokes are lighter than carbon ... as the only metal on the BST's are the hubs
MCN first ride of the new blade. they give it 5 stars and say it's a stunning bike. not bad for mild updates to a almost 4 year old bike.
Just shows how far Honda are leading the game imo, four years later and its still an ace bike..shame it dont look as good as the 07 but you cant have it all....or can you... Yes Ben,NT PVMs are high on the chart I have a wheel performance chart that I will dig out for you all, its a little out of date but shows some interesting facts for example a stock GSXR rear wheel kicks out 1500kj of energy where a BST puts out 500 a PVM 480 ish thus making it easy to turn,go,stop, bounce all those things in short, its not about the weight its about where is placed on the wheel thats what makes PVMs so good.
Very interesting I Know one of the points of the K9 GSXR is that it had considerably lighter wheels than its predecessors !!!
Braking...good value, but i can say with certainty they are barely lighter than stock wheels, as i had a set on my 1st 07
Off topic again...sorry Im a sucker for a chat...lol Here you go Ben, as I said best wheel PVM Y5's in mag!
Thing is mate as you know its not about the weight its where it is and unless you/we can get data of MoI then its hard to say whats good or bad, scales are one thing but spinning mass is another..
I'm going to Farnham Honda in a couple of hours as they have one in the showroom. Sadly, no test rides as they don't want to run it until spring!!?! crazy i know. So if anyone wants any particular pics of it, let me know asap. Arthur, you wanna come down mate?
Would love to mate but drinking cofee and looking at the job I should be doing.....lol Be nice to catch up soon mate!
Im in my local dealer as I text having my clutch mod done, This is in their, I can hand on heart say I'd take a 2011 over it all day long!! The wheels look cheap n tacky in the flesh I'd take after Market ones all day long!!!
These are stunning I love the castrol in the flesh the pics don't do it justice, HRC n repsol are stunning to. The manager was just telling me the repsol bike for 2012 is the 2011 bike just £125 cheaper!!!! Go figure!!! What's this about, cut the bodywork away to show off the oil filter???? It's all to R1 esq for me
@Benn The Pig - So the 2012 has cheap and tacky wheels, looks like an R1 and you'd prefer a 2011 model? Hmmm, OK then, thanks for the scientific analysis!
^ Many purchases and decisions are made with the heart rather than analysis and there is nothing wrong with that - in fact, i think its probably a better way of living your life
