Honda are compiling a documentary to commemerate 20 years of the Fireblade, the Advertising Agency then contacted me via another forum and a group of us were interviewed. Honda then wanted yours truly to be the focus coz I was there from the start and have this obsession for the blade where I've serviced , tweeked and advised members from several clubs and forums. Wanted a younger member to attend but Honda insisted twas the masterblader they wanted and even upped the budget so I could take a partner, I'm glad I did coz this was my best biking moment and met all the top guns including Paolo Flamnini. The documentary will be ready for the Milan show next month.
Not from what ive heard, the whole changes were made with racing (including supestock) to mind. The wheels are lighter but dont bet on paying less than 8-900 for a set for at least 2 years, club racers will be going nuts for them.
I read some where the new wheels are actually heavier. Not sure were I read it but positive that's what it said as I originally wanted a set till I read they were heavier.
Did not post the above footage as this was sent to me before the Milan Show, however I'm still waiting for the blade documentary not sure now whether thats going to be published. Maybe they saw such an old git and changed their minds
A few pics from a trip to my local dealer earlier today. I really like the pearlescent white paint I was surprised that the stickers aren't underneath the lacquer of the paint on the new bike.
I went to the 2012 blade 'launch party' today at Kent motorcycles - plenty of people queuing for a test ride. The bloke I spoke who had just gotten back from a test ride loved it, said the suspension gave a much better ride/perfromance. I ran out of time so didn't get to test ride. There had two bikes, a red one and the white HRC. The red was my favourite, but both were lovely looking machines - loved the wheels!
That's the ABS model, so it includes the (£700?) premium on top. I wonder if the dealer hasn't got the exact OTR price yet, given the bike isn't on sale until early Jan 2012?
