Sat at the Honda stand having a brew, said hello to beckers, nice to meet you mate. It's not too busy yet, took a pic for the wife:
Great day at the show, no discount on R&g crash bungs or the power bronze hugger I wanted which was disappointing, bumped into John McGuinness on the Honda stand an he remembered me and Lewis from Grantham Honda! This was impressive but at £26k it shood be: The BMW RR looked a little dated at £13k making the 2012 blade a bargain at £11k and it looked fresh and sharp!
That's kind of you Martin but I'll wait till after Xmas now. You will enjoy to day, take a pack up and flask, you will need a mortgage for lunch?
Did you see any bargains Carl ? As mentioned previously the MotoGP and WSB offers are by far the best I found £40 for the WHOLE weekend at the GP.
Not really but to be fair I only looked at what I personally wanted, no one gives much away these days.
I went today too as Carl mentioned no real bargains. Other than the Panigale there was nothing that caught my eye. Usually leave with ideas for March but I'll be sticking with the Blade. Seriously considered a S1000RR a few weeks back but any valuation of my bike fell well short of the book. Lack of boobs today too overall a tad disappointed!
Will be on the train Monday 26th. at 6 am for a 4 hour plus journey taking my 25 year old daughter to her first bike show.
Went to Bike show today, made a bee line for the Honda stand to introduce myself to Beckers and asked three different people all who said they've never heard of him. Mentioned the forum and even got some woman who seemed to be quite high up to check the staff list, also mentioned maybe he's close cropped with a beard but she said couldn't find anyone on the list who it could be........Whats going on there then?....... Overall disappointed with the show seems to be going the same way as food shopping.........show's getting smaller but price is going up Nothing really jumping out at me, new blade looks not much different to my 08 model! Only bargains I did spot were in the Honda merchandise stand.......seemed to be very reasonable.....and a couple of stands had some amazingly cheap sets of leathers, not top names but good quality nevertheless, IXS, RST and Wolf. Only thing I came away with was an Oxford thermal shirt, which when I got it home scratched the feck out of my neck when I put it on!
Well we flew down from Aberdeen for the show and we were all fairly disappointed with it... Lack of smaller traders... No real discount on anything and I didn't get any bloody boots!
Glad i made the decision to use the money for other things on the bike .I have not perhaps been since about 08 which after the glory dayz of new ZX10s R1s Gsxr1000 all coming out about 04/08 it seemed to be getting a bit stale and no good deals so factor in Fuel /Car parking /high entry cost/ Food &Coffee and maybe a dayz holiday then you would want a tadge more then a nod from a passing racer and a walk around the same pile of shite they cant sell all year. Must be some good bits mind you but for me its pros vrs cons.
Beckers was there on Sunday mate, nice chap, perhaps he had a day off? I too was a little disappointed however at 50 minutes drive it was a reasonable day out, well 4 hours at the show!
Good day out today. Met up with Fez, Martin and Beckers. Didn't see too much to catch my eye, apart from a a very nice Dunlop girl and a few on the Kwackers stand. The RSV4 Factory is looking like a strong contender, Jesus it's tiny and hopefully if and when I can afford one they might have sorted all the sh1t out with the electronics, engine etc apart from the Blade it was the only thing that got me smiling. The 1199 is nice but remortgage the house for a bike.......nah !!
sorry never got chance to meet up when your with 3 other mates hard to drag them for a meet some other time .any way got a great deal on floating wavy disc got them for 150 quid for front pair got the rear free and 40 quid for front pads should have been 70 quid and yesthe disc are great quality /R&G bar ends black pro bolts rear sprocket bolts no where to get a number plate so got 1 off ebay so sorted
Yep good to meet you guys today, was gonna talk to Beckers abit earlier in the day but he seemed a bit pre occupied My camera was a bit slow to catch the several cheeky glances at the rear end, you dirty barsteward! Perks of the job aye!
Dont know what you mean!!! She was a genuine potential customer (member of the TT'ers, Tarmac Terrorists) who already had a Honda and was looking to upgrade. ;-)
